Barbados

Travelling to Barbados was a very interesting venture..This is a lovely island and even though I live on another rock this place really felt like a tropical remote getaway...Jamaica is beautiful but has a developed side to it with modern infrastructure but Barbados seems to beam with radiance at the lack of development  for anyone to see...
A Real Rock

As I hit the island I knew I had to run around and take some photographs even though i was there for a wedding..
Sunset

So I left my hosts home around 4:45am each morning and journeyed out earning the alias "The Runaway Jamaican"

What did i notice that was so interesting?

Simplicity for all that has been said about Barbados i was stupified at how simple it was...I'm from a rock too but my rock has serious infrastructure throughout most of the island.. there was one interesting architecture though

Nothing else was so splendid in the island

Of course you knew that I had to take a serious stroll as I walked around those few mornings...Words strolled and walked were deliberately used as I put some serious miles under my shoes and reached a half of one length of the island in just 2 and a half hrs..With taking pictures..

I realized i could actually walk the length of the island in little to no time but that wasn't the essence of my trips
The Capital screaming Simplicity

For those reading this blog i dont know if you are familiar with a racecourse but Barbados racetrack  for the thoroughbred is right at the roadside next door to the museum that wedding to shoot was being held
The Sports of Champions

I also got a chance to stretch my legs with the locals ..No they weren't savages  lol.. Just beautiful wonderful people all around..Another thing I liked was how busy each person was not a lot of idle boys hanging out smoking weed .
People in Barbados Three cheers for that

I saw many a sights while I was there and of course placed my shots where i thought they were needed. I wasn't running out a trigger nor shot space but decided limited made the moments more exotic..There's a shot !! Camera lifts and  BAM!! another great shot just below

Yes i am an artist of my craft..Fine art even on the beach

Of course this is what some people came here for Beach..and they weren't disappointed as this place has beaches after all this is an island..Beach all around with a few short cliff

I couldn't help but stay out of the sun after all I am from an island I am used to the sun so i spent my time under an umbrella
Lets just say this part of the umbrella was better composition than the whole umbrella..lol

The umbrella wasn't my only canopy though as i had nature at times to shelter me from the pelt of the sunrays in this beautiful tree cover on the beach. So even the bushes were alive and what a sound they made as the breeze blew thru them
Nature in all its majestic beauty

Not to leave without at least capturing a sunrise I begged my friend David to carry me to the east end of the island to see the sun rising
Sunrise truly is a beautiful time to take pictures...

Who knew the east end was the picturesque spot...Most of the visited areas surround Bridgetown to the west..But the Jamaican wanted to see the real island

We spare nothing when photographing

Even the ground was left out from my assault ..I stomped my way to even these plants on the shore ..I got wet with sea water riding up my knee to get a few shots..After-all I couldn't spare Barbados from my onslaught..

The Locals( Betty and Christine)

Talking about onslaught i heard that Barbados had a monkey so I journeyed through every woodland and bush to see if i could spot a critter..I looked, I looked no monkey..Asked people for the monkey they say one around the back .. I checked.No monkey!! So now i'm feeling like the monkey cause day4 still no monkey and everyone keep saying there here in abundance..I silently hissed my teeth for this mystical animal that i couldn't find..Then at museum someone says monkey disturbing the setup for wedding my ears perked up and I asked where was the monkey. and they said outside.. I went outside and still no monkey but i decided to walk around the corner and this was what I saw;
The Abominable Snowman Brother sitting waiting for his Mugshot

Thank you for sharing in my Bajan experience..Oh yeah I forgot the wedding..lol..Here's a few images to wet your appetite from the destination wedding

Would I go back? You bet I would .Many new friends and still have half an island to walk..I wonder if i can walk the whole thing next time in 9.58 sec Usain Bolt style..DWL
Here's the couple saying Goodbye for me

Au revoir
